Visitor of the University of Lagos, President Muhammadu Buhari, has constituted a Visitation Panel to look into the leadership crisis rocking the University of Lagos.
The Panel is to submit its report within two weeks.
Meanwhile, the President has asked the Pro-Chancellor of the institution, Dr Wale Babalakin, SAN and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, to recuse themselves from performing their functions in office during the period of the Visitation.
He also sacked Prof. Theophilus Omololu Soyombo, the Acting Vice Chancellor recently installed by the Wale Babalakin-led Governing Council as he called on the Senate to convene urgently and appoint an Acting Vice-Chancellor for the university.
It will be recalled that the Governing Council had removed Prof. Ogundipe over alleged financial misappropriation and abuse of office and appointed Prof. Soyombo in Acting capacity.
