On
Friday, May 31, 2019, the entire campus of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun
state was thrown into pandimonium as an HND student of Apply Chemistry,
Aminu Sheu Ahmed slumped after submitting his answer booklet during the
institution's semester examination.

This,
we learnt, truncated the examination due to the indefinite closure of
the tertiary institution consequent upon the violent protest by the
students after Aminu eventually died, allegedly, due to the negligence
by the health workers at the school's medical centre where he was
rushed.
One of the students of the institution who preferred anonymity spoke to themessage international.blogspot.com
on the ugly incident, blaming the occurrence on the negligence on the
part of the school's medical centre staffers on duty at the moment Aminu
was rushed in for medical attention.
"The
guy couldn't have died, he was not attended to when we took him to the
health centre. He was still breathing when he was rushed into the place,
but they told us they have closed for the day. By the time we now took
him to a nearby hospital, he had given up. So, this got most of us upset
; hence the violent protest which led to the destruction of the
school's medical centre.
That's why the school registrar, Mr Salawu
ordered the indefinite closure of the school."
Aminu,
a native of Ekiti, who was said to be a devout Muslim reportedly
observed jumat prayer that same day and was full of life. He has since
been buried according Muslim rites at Obaagun near Iree, Osun state
after contacting his family.
