BREAKING: KAYODE FAYEMI DISGRACES FAYOSE'S ANOINTED CANDIDATE, OLUSOLA ELEKA - EMERGES WINNER OF EKITI GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

The yesterday, July 14, 2018 governorship election in Ekiti state was actually a game of revenge as what went around in the 2014 guber tussle between the then governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and his arch rival, Ayodele Fayose which went in favour of the latter ( where the use of federal might was alleged) has now come around to rewrite the political record of the state designated as Fountain of Knowledge as Fayemi emerged victorious in the election which almost threw the state and whole country into political catastrophe.

Former governor and minister who contested on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 197, 462 votes to defeat his close contender from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Eleka who polled 177, 927 votes.

However, as wide jubilation is springing up in  Fayemi's camps in the state and beyond, Eleka and his principal, Fayose had condemned the outcome of the election, alleging massive malpractices orchestrated by the presence of security operatives purportedly sent by the APC government at the centre.

Fayemi was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after winning convincingly in 12 of the 16 local governments, including Ifelodun where the incumbent governor,  Fayose hails from.
