The organizers of the prestigious YOMAFA Global Awards have officially announced that the 19th annual edition, tagged Season 18, will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The august event is scheduled to hold at the Martinos Hotel and Hall on Otunba Jobifele Way, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, with the red carpet rolling out at 12:00 pm prompt. This year’s event is themed “The Excellence Issue: Celebrating Culture, Leadership, Achievement.”
According to the organizing committee, the 2026 edition aims to spotlight individuals and corporate organizations driving deep continent-wide impact under its core vision of building a bigger Africa through excellence.
Established in 2007, the Year of Merit Awards for Foremost Achievers (YOMAFA) has spent nearly two decades acting as a beacon of integrity. Over the past 19 years, the platform has recognized more than 2,500 honorees globally across eight key sectors, including Business, Governance, Entertainment, Education, Health, Media, Philanthropy, and Youth Leadership.
Organizers stated that the Season 18 edition will prioritize genuine merit over mediocrity in a rapidly changing world. The selections will focus primarily on entrepreneurs creating jobs, artists preserving African identity, public servants delivering service with integrity, and youth leaders pioneering tech and social innovation.
The afternoon event is expected to gather a distinguished audience of captains of industry, government dignitaries, creatives, and community leaders.
Alongside the formal presentation of the iconic gold YOMAFA trophies, organisers said that guests will experience premium cultural performances, inspiring keynote addresses, and the official induction of the new awardees into the YOMAFA Hall of Fame.
