United Bank for Africa (UBA) head office on Marina, Lagos Island, has been engulfed by fire, leaving some of the staffers scampering for safety. Some reportedly jummped from the high rise building as the flame engulfed the bank tower sometime in the afternoon of Tuesday, September 16, 2025 When banking services were at the peak. This unfortunate incident, The Message International learnt, led to some, including customers, sustaining various degrees of injuries. While attempts were being made by firefighters to contain the inferno, sympathizers reportedly gathered around the ground floor of the magnificent edifice, wailing.
However, the cause of the fire is yet to be known as there's no official statement from the bank in respect of that as at the time of filing this report. The ugly incident, we learnt, might have consumed some vital documents because of its gravity, but no casualty was recorded.
