The Y’ello Star champion, Okeowo Oladotun, popularly known as Dotti expressed his excitement at being presented with the keys to a fully furnished home with an in-built studio.
While speaking to the Chief Operating Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mazen Mroue before the presentation, he explained how relieving the possibility of never having to pay house rent is for him. He said, “As a young boy like me in Lagos, trying to figure things out, it’s hard to pay rent and knowing that I’ll never pay rent again, it is making me very emotional.”
Upon emerging winner of the maiden edition of Y’ello Star, Dotti was awarded a five million Naira cash prize, a brand-new car and a fully furnished apartment with an in-built studio.
Speaking on his journey through the competition, Dotti said, “Y’ello Star is a platform to uplift people. I won, but a lot of people around me that were on the show were also winners. We had access to training from Berkeley and Henley Business School and because of that, the way we approach our music has been different. It is just amazing.”
The MTN Y'ello star is a musical platform created by MTN Nigeria, to search for hidden, unharnessed talents of the Nigerian youths.
