Wednesday March 31, 2021 will forever remain a tragic day for former Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the banker turned politician whose are on Anambra guber seat was attacked by yetyunidentified gunmen leaving two of his security nen dead while many others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
His spokesman, Christian Aburine who revealed this in a statement said the former CBN chief was attacked in his home community in Isuofia while having an interactive session with some members of the community.
According to him, two policemen were allegedly killed in the process, while the whereabouts of Professor Soludo is currently unknown.
Soludo has thrown his hat into the November 6, 2021 governorship election and is touted to be a strong candidate in the race.
It is however not clear whether the attack was politically motivated.
