
The
Federal Government (FG) has declared Tuesday, August 12 and Wednesday,
August 13, 2019 as public holidays to enable Muslim faithful join their
counterparts across the globe tin the celebration of this year's
EID-IL-KABIR holding on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
This
was made known by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior,
Georgina Ehuriah on Tuesday, August, Tuesday 8, 2019 in Abuja.
She made this declaration in a statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relationsat the office, Muhammad Muaga.
Ehuriah
congratulated the Muslims on the occasion and called on all Nigerians
irrespective of their religious or ethic divides home and in the dispora
to use the period to embrace the vitues of love, humility, peace and
sacrifice as demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
She
also urged Nigerians to shun any form of disruptive tendency and join
hands with the FG to build a peaceful, strong and United Nigeria for the
growth and development of the nation.
