Lagos Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) governorship aspirant and business mogul, Engineer Adedeji Doherty has lampooned the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) both at the state and federal levels, describing the party as a great disaster to Nigeria and its people. He therefore called on all Nigerians irrespective of their religious or ethnic affiliations to collectively vote out the party in the next political dispensation, especially at the federal level to ensure the return of peace and sanity to the nation's political and economic terrains which have been bastardized since May 2015 the party took over the mantle of leadership of the country.
Speaking with the message international.blogspot.com at his Oregun, Lagos office a couple of days back, the astute politician expressed sadness over the state of the nation, insisting removing President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming election will not only make Nigerians smile but save Nigeria's democracy which is already in the verge of collapse.
"Nigerians can't continue to be living in fear in their own country. The security situation in the country is zero. Nigerians are tired of all these stupid killings here and there by Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram insurgents. How can a president open his eyes and watch the people he's ruling being killed like fowls almost everyday? It's very painful. Nothing has been achieved by the present administration. APC government is a failure in totality. Buhari in particular has brought pains and bad luck to Nigeria, he should just go in 2019. Nigerians don't want him again. PDP is surely coming back to take over the ruling of the country after winning across the country in the next general elections."
On his chances of defeating the incumbent governor of Lagos state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode in the forthcoming governorship election if given the ticket, Doherty boasted, "I have what it takes to defeat Ambode. His government is fraudulent. He's just deceiving Lagosians with kangaroo infrastructure projects, commissioning flyovers and bus stops, spending money on club houses upon the huge federal monthly allocation, oil deprivation allowance and Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) amounting to over N40 b. No employment generation for our youth, dirty environment and all that. He has sent all the companies packing due to multiple taxation. To survive in Lagos has now become extremely hard. So, all these must stop. I will usher in the real change, though as a PDP governor, that will make Lagosians smile if I become the governor of the state come 2019."
