PROTEST AT OSUN LIAISON OFFICE, IKEJA OVER 100% HIKE IN STATE OF ORIGIN CERTIFICATE

There was a mini protest at Osun state Liaison office on Remi Fanikayode street,  GRA, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, July 9, 2018 by some indigenes of the state who came for the Certificate if Origin as they were required to pay N10,000 as against N5,000 being paid as at January this year.

Most of the indigenes, mainly intending students processing their admissions into various tertiary institutions went home disappointed. They condemned the undue hike, describing it as a mere extortion by Governor Rauf Aregbesola as other states' liaison offices still charge as low as N2,500.

One of the students who identified himself as Isaac Ilufemi told the message international.blogspot.com that the amount is just too outrageous compared to what other states charge.

"The amount the Osun LIAISON office here in Lagos us charging its indigenes to obtain certificate of origin now is outrageous. Even as at last year, it was N2, 500. And even on the state's portal presently, it s still the same N2,500. But on getting here now, they pasted it that it has been increased from not even the usual N2,500 but N5,000 being paid as at January 2018. If Governor Aregbesola can't help solve our problems, he should not be adding to it. We are even tired of his governance style. Everybody is complaining. Is that how to rake in money to pay all the outstanding salaries of Isun workers? It's unfair"
